Henley-in-Arden, Warwickshire, is
about 6 miles north of Stratford-upon-Avon and is therefore in the heart
of Shakespeare Country. A market town of about 4000 inhabitants it
is located in the most delightful countryside, and boasts a very lively
community. The Rotary Club of Henley-in-Arden was
founded in 1974, and has been an active part of the town ever since.
Currently consisting of 22 members, we meet every Monday evening at the
Henley Golf Club (7 for 7.30 pm).
Rotary is about service in the community,
in the workplace, and through out the world. Rotary
International has clubs in over 200 countries all of which are
striving to make the world a better place to live in. This can
involve anything from supporting a concerted attempt to eradicate Polio,
providing educational opportunities for international students to local
community projects.
A fundamental tenet of Rotary is
Fellowship, and there is an ongoing programme designed to further this
aim. A big part of being a member is having fun!
